Some celebs, like Salma Hayek, have paid upwards of $7,000 per night to stay on a remote island in the Indian Ocean, while Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey once upon a time vacationed on a private island (the resort doesn't even give a nightly rate on their website!) as newlyweds. Join us in taking a closer look at some of the most extravagant celeb honeymoons:
1. Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher
Carrie and her man basked in the sand and sun in Tahiti after their July 2010 nuptials. Just days after they said "I do," the country star and her hockey hubby hopped on a plane and headed straight to paradise.
They stayed in French Polynesian paradise at Le Taha'a Resort and Spa where their overwater suite came complete with a glass bottom floor -- and cost over $1,000 per night!
We're not sure if the couple took advantage of all the resort's offerings -- like scuba diving, spa service, and kayaking -- but photographers did manage to capture them in their exclusive beachfront huts and taking leisurely strolls around the island.
2. Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey:
Jess and Nick didn't last the ages, but we're sure they will always remember their beautiful honeymoon. These two got hitched in Texas in October 2002, then escaped city life for an ultra exotic trip to Fiji's Turtle Island Resort.
The luxurious private island (which was the backdrop for the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition) only has accommodations for 14 couples -- and there are 100 staff members on hand to make the trip as restful and relaxing as humanly possible. The all-inclusive resort provides in-room breakfast to their newlyweds each morning, while Nick and Jess likely dined on lobster and champagne at beachy lunch picnics.
The exotic resort doesn't list their prices, but you can bet these two, and other celebs like Britney Spears and Bachelor stars Trista and Ryan, paid a pretty penny for this kind privacy and beauty.
Now that both Nick and Jess are engaged again, we wonder where they'll go on their second honeymoons!
3. Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskeet
Without phones, TV, internet, or radio (the resort is "techno-free"), they had plenty of time for snorkeling, waterfall hikes, buffet breakfasts and plenty of R&R. “It was the most amazing place,” Kendra said in an interview after the trip (via Us magazine). “We were in heaven being away from everything.”
The resort costs about $2,000 per night and is the same place Bachelor Jake Pavelka proposed to Vienna Girardi on the season finale of the reality show. Too bad they broke up days later -- they could have come back!
4. Salma Hayek and Francois- Henri Pinault
Upon arrival, Salma and her new hubby were treated to 20-minute massages (every guest is pampered when they get there), and then they settled into their exclusive Villa North Island -- which has 3 private beaches, a bathtub big enough for two, plus an outdoor shower and
